FUE Hair Transplant in Delhi
If you’re considering a hair transplant, it’s wise to do research to find out how the different methods actually work, before going ahead with your procedure. If you’re opting for a FUE hair transplant, take a look at this guide to find out more about the FUE technique.
What does the FUE hair transplant method consist of?
There are two main methods used for a hair transplant - FUE and FUT. A FUE hair transplant involves individual follicles of hair being removed and transplanted into small incisions made in the scalp, or wherever the hair is being transplanted to. Although labour intensive, FUE hair transplants are generally the preferred method of hair transplant. This is due to reduced recovery times, limited scarring and suitability for patients who have particularly tight scalps.
The FUE technique for hair transplant procedures
If you opt for a FUE hair transplant, here’s what you can expect to happen on the day of your procedure:
- Local anaesthetic injections are given to numb the donor and recipient areas
- Individual follicular units are removed using a small, round punch
- The transplant area is prepared using a fine blade
- Follicular units are placed into small holes in the transplant area
- Grafts are blended so they match your natural hair growth pattern
- 30 minutes following your transplant, you’ll be able to leave
What to expect after your FUE hair transplant
Following your FUE transplant, you can leave after around 30 minutes to begin your recovery at home. It will take around a week to ten days for a full recovery, during which time you may experience some slight discomfort or swelling. It’s important to follow all aftercare instructions given by your surgeon, to make sure your recovery is as swift as possible.
FUE hair transplant - how long for results to show?
The results of any hair transplant are not immediate, and it can take a number of months before a noticeable cosmetic difference is made to your appearance. Following a FUE hair transplant, new hair will begin to grow in around three to four months. Despite this, it will take at least six to eight months before a noticeable difference is visible.
